I receive periodic complaints from shoppers that log homes are dark inside.
Here are a few reasons why this might be true. They are:
Small windows. Heavy curtains. Big porches. Small rooms. Inadequate interior lighting. Dark interior stains. Dark furniture. Dark cabinets. Inadequate Planning.
The solution to darkness is: larger windows, sheer curtains or no curtains, more ceiling can lights, light or natural interior stains, lighter furniture colors, lighter oak-type cabinets, and light colored paint on the sheet rock portions of the interior walls.
