News from Jack - Your Health and Your Log Home

Your Health and Your Log Home

The Parade Sunday magazine presented Stay Healthy in the January 27, 2013 issue. It offers 10 health tips, four of which directly relate to log home ownership. For instance, they note that ...

#4 It is never too late to stop smoking, modify your diet and begin exercising, even if it is just walking. What could be more pleasant that to walk the land on which you built your log home. Relaxingly healthy.

#5 To feel younger, just open your window blinds. Well then, how about adding a nice window wall to your log home. See the photo above. Let the outside come pouring in. Windows like these can be built as a feature of your great room or on the gable end of nearly any log or timber frame home. 24/7 dark is not healthy. Sunlight is good.

#7 Be sociable. Did you know that many of our school age teens that find themselves in trouble are loners. They are isolates with few friends. My grandmother would have said that they spend too much time stewing in their own juices. Today, the great room in many log homes provide a combined living room, dining room, and kitchen. What better way to enjoy family and friends than to invite them over for game day or a BBQ. Bring a dish. How sociable is that!

#9 To motivate yourself to become physically active, get a dog. Dog owners tend to take their dogs for walks. Walking for as little as 15 minutes 3-4 times a week will make you a better person.

So, improve your physical self. Purchase your log home or timber frame home from Jack. Then adopt a pound puppy. It will make you a better person. Jack is awaiting your telephone call at 800 767-4916.
